Pienza

While we were in Siena one of the hotel staff members told us that Pienza has the very best views in Tuscany. 

Thursday 10/10/2019 - So we made a last minute adjustment to our itinerary and visited the Tuscan village of Pienza.

 Every time there was an opportunity to look at the views of Tuscany they were as great as advertised.



There was a charm to the small village as well.  As with most of these small villages and towns we visited there were narrow brick and stone streets throughout.

 Unfortunately the cathedral was under major repairs.  So some of our pictures show the ancient buildings with the modern cranes and construction materials.

 The cathedral looked great on the inside, even with all the construction outside.

 This little village is known for their cheese, so make sure you take the time to stop and taste the cheese!
