Castello Verrazzano

This was one of my favorite parts of the trip.  After Vinci we drove to Chianti to a castle I had been looking forward to the most.  Matteo, our host was the only person I had spoken to on the phone prior to our trip.  He was great and quite the talker.  There are 11 guestrooms in the castle's  farmhouse.

The farmhouse was a cute little place that was a great mixture of modern conveniences in a very old building.
Tuesday 10/8/2019 - That morning we drove up a little dirt road to visit the castle proper.  The little road was an adventure all by itself with how narrow it was, but it was well worth the drive once we got to the castle.

The event space/restaurant ambiance was unbelievable.  It was right out of the movies.  Everything from the wine tasting room, to the wine barrels in the restaurant to the grape arbor with several different kinds of grapes that you could just eat right off the vine.

It was still morning so the staff was either out working on the harvest or setting up for events later that day.

We walked around for a little while then headed out to the next castle on our list!

We highly recommend visiting Castello Verrazzano.  On the way out we stopped by the storefront and had Matteo ship us some "souvenirs" home.

If you want to see more pictures of our days in Chianti please feel free to look through our Castello Verrazzano - Chianti Album.
