Montepulciano

Next on the list was Montepulciano.  This is a hilltop Medieval Renaissance town in the province of Siena.  Several movies/TV series had filmed scenes in this town and it is also known for it's Vino Nobile.

 We could have used another hour or two in this town.  At this point after all the walking in Siena we were pretty tired.  So we divided and conquered.

I should have driven further up into the town before parking.  The picture on the right shows how steep of an incline this town has.





The ladies headed up to the center of town to find the piazza from the movie scenes and to see the views from the top.

The men searched through the many shops to find the right one to have a drink and get re-hydrated from all the walking.
