Cinque Terra

Our original plan after Florence was to stop in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa & grab a quick lunch on our way to LaSpezia (our landing pad for the weekend).  However, we were very tired after walking through three cities for a week.  So we decided to skip Pisa and just have a relaxing 3 day weekend in Cinque Terra.

Friday 10/4/2019 - After a 2 hour train ride from Florence to La Spezia we settled in at the AirBnB and walked around La Spezia, had dinner and crashed.

There was no agenda for the weekend other than to rest, do laundry and see the sites.  It was a great place to relax for a weekend.

There are hiking trails
that connect the 5 towns of Cinque Terre.  We
were too tired for hiking, plus the easiest walking trail was closed due to a rockslide.  The local
train was good enough for us.

The 5 towns of Cinque Terre are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore.

Each town has something unique to make it stand out from the others.  We visited 4 of the 5 towns.  We chose not to visit Corniglia because it wasn't on the coast.

The sunsets were absolutely incredible.
Each town had a something
special to offer.

The towns were full of small walkways that climbed the hillsides.  Of course the best views were at the top so that was where we went.
